This whole picture is like a melting pot -- several characters and people, some of you might recognize, are present. I won't spoil anything.
When I drove past the buildings where they held Anime North this year, I was gawking at crowds of kids dressed up as anime characters and I thought it was surreal. So in a sense, that was my inspiration for this picture. I think, for any conventions, the fans are the stars of the show because they're so dedicated and enthusiastic.
By the way, I've never been to such places that's why I was so amazed.
I like the way you drew the couple in the front. They look like, "What the heck are we doing here?" Lol, the people in the back are perfect. I love the way you colour with coloured pencils. :heart;
There's actually more adults & older teens than kids who do cosplay. It takes skill, patience, time, & money to make costumes. You've never been to a con? I've gone to Anime Expo from 2003-2007. I mainly go for the cosplay. It's rather overwhelming. To be honest with you, there are loads of otaku & the people are crazy. I'm just standing there thinking, "What's wrong with these people?" I swear I'm one of the few normal people there; everybody else is just pyscho! :-p At least, that is how I feel when I go. I'm not going to any con this year. Maybe next year. I just go to show off my costume work & just to be with cosplay friends.

Honestly, I would have gone if the ticket prices weren't too expensive. $40 is way too much. I went to the Organic food expo this year and it was only $20. Even if I did go, I would totally feel out of place because I'm not much of an anime fan I used to be and I'm practically out of the loop! But it would have been fun gawking at the people there!
A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
